About Me
During my senior year in college, I was invited to be a part of a
team that made videos for students. Desktop video was still in its
infancy, and luckily, one of our partners was rich enough to afford
a video interface that could accept analog video on a normal PC.
Everyone shot on Video8 tapes, and we outputted low res SD video to
VHS. Ah, those were the days.
I got my editing chops in one of the three top post-production
studios in Manila in 2000, using Media 100 and After Effects to
produce TV commercials and corporate videos. From 2002 to 2004, I
did freelance work in Los Angeles, California and edited videos for
DVD featurettes and corporate videos. I also attended a course at
the New York Film Academy, where I learned cinematography,
directing, and writing.
Since opening our studio in 2004, I’ve written and directed various
corporate videos, as well as worked with different directors and
production companies. We've always been heavy on the motion
graphics, but we've since made 2D and 3D animation promos, visual
effects for films, and shot live-action for corporate and broadcast
projects.
In 2019, I attended an intense 6-month Masters in Interaction Design
at IED Barcelona where I learned design thinking, UX, UI design, and
front end development. We prototyped a banking app, a travel app,
developed a go-to-market system, and presented interactive
installations at the 2019 Mutek and Sonar +D festivals. Aside from
learning new concepts and software, I learned so much more from my
diverse classmates while collaborating on numerous projects.
